Not much except the bathroom
This is a recent conversion of an ancient building. It is small. The room I had was so low that I kept bumping my head on a beam. The mini bar/nespresso/safe were completely inaccessible without crawling along the floor. You are sent along the street to check in and check out. The lift was weird though modern. You had to keep you finger on the button whilst it made a very slow climb. Breakfast was indifferent.
The room we were upgraded to was very nice. Very handy to the city centre. Within walking distance of most things.
The initial room we got was horrible. It was double room however, was the size of a matchbox. The ceiling was only 2100mm . Very clostraphobic and no real ventilation .The restaurant down stairs can be an issue with noise and smoke.
The hotel is brand new. The modern room is very small but well equipped. The bathroom is not very "private" as it is a glass box in the bedroom. Fine if you're a couple or with somebody you feel entirely comfortable with. Fantastic location and good restaurant just below. Double glazed windows are definitely a well-thought out benefit. Rooms are not airconditioned but there was a fan in the room (another very thoughtful addition). Toiletries, a hairdryer and a modern coffee and tea making making machine. Breakfast, at the cafe below, was included and was very nice. Altogether, very good value for money.
Access to the rooms is up a steep flight of stairs, after which there is an elevator to the floors. This is problematic when you have luggage. Very small rooms which might not make it ideal for a long stay.
Hotel was very new and modern, with a very central location.
Sound insulation in the room was non existent, could clearly hear everything from above and outside the room. Bed was very hard. There is no reception for this hotel and the breakfast and reception duties are done by a near by best western.
Clean and convenient
rooms quite small and stairs to all rooms. Although there is a lift it is not essy to operate
Very central and practical for business, shopping and sightseeing! The staff is very friendly and that makes such a different! I liked the style if the room and the bed is very confortable...most importantly, the hotel is very very clean! I will definitely go back there!
The lift was very slow but that's normal for an old building that has been restructured! Not a big deal because doing a bit of stairs is also ok :-)
great location in old town. very close to the sights and railway station. breakfast is not bad.
broken wifi. reported but not repaired for 3 days. staff are not that nice and helpful.
We loved this quaint hotel. Modern and new. Our request for a room with a view was honoured and we had a beautiful view looking over a small piazza. Huge windows letting in ample light. Bathroom modern and shower was awesome. TV cool. Security excellent. Downstairs restaurant was modern and ideal. Room to leave our suitcases open on the floor was welcomed.
The reception staff at the best western where you needed to check in were not friendly at all. Lucerne hotels are pricey.
Coffee/tea maker brighten our day!
No sign on the road, hard to find
The location was excellent. Services like breakfast, car parking and staff was excellent as well.
The rooms are a little bit small, but it is fully understandable considering the structure of the building.
We loved the style of our room: a mixture of modern design and typical swiss charm. Our room was on the last floor, directly under the roof. We also had a wonderful view on the nice hirschenplatz. Breakfast was of very good quality, and free wifi is very convenient.
There is an elevator in the building, but there is a steep flight of stairs to reach it. There was also an additional flight of stars between our room and the last floor the elevator can reach. We did not mind as we did not have heavy baggage and we dont mind climbing stairs, but it is not recommended for old people or disabled ones
15 mints walk from the train station. Just in the old town. Room is small, but very cozy and stylish.
Good quality, beautiful town.
Elevator is not convenient.
The check-in at Hotel Krone was fast and convenient, and the Le Stelle very close by. Excellent location for walking everywhere and close enough to the train station. The room was white glove clean and white bedding on the beds made the room most pleasant. The rooms are small but moving about them was no problem. Everything in the room, including the coffee/tea maker was efficient. The bathroom is part of the room, but very private with an excellent shower. The view over a piazza was most pleasant. I was traveling with two daughters and a granddaughter, and we enjoyed our stay at Le Stelle very much. However, the hotel is not as suitable for small children. The price was fair and we would definitely stay here again. We would also recommend it to our traveler friends.
The rooms are over the restaurant and any extended party at that location presents a problem for weary travelers. Such was our case on our only night there. A grand opening party was quite loud until 11:00 P.M. Perhaps they should have been more considerate of paying guests above.
Location within walking distance from the train station and in Old Town. Delicious breakfast buffet included. Super nice waitress. Wish I had gotten her name. Short brown hair and big smile. Ultra modern and clean room/bathroom. Great shower. Flat screen TV. Lights on dimmer. Free internet. Mini-elevator. Good security. Ivan at the desk was very helpful. He kept my luggage after checkout, so I could go sightseeing. Loved Lucerne; will be back!
Having to check in/out down the street. I arrived on a Sunday afternoon at the back of the Best Western Hotel. The gift shop was closed and it took me awhile to figure out that the Hotel entrance was on the other side of the building, on another street. I speak only English and couldn't get any help from passersby. No view; walls, roofs, and pipes.
